Gillian Gower is an award-winning (and award-losing) scholar, educator, and researcher. Her expertise lies in the cultural history of music in late medieval England and Scotland, as well as representations of the medieval past in contemporary media.
A former professional musician, Dr. Gower was educated at the Johns Hopkins University, CUNY Hunter College, and UCLA, where she earned a PhD in Musicology. She has held teaching and research appointments at the University of Edinburgh, University of Denver, Southern Methodist University, and UCLA.
